Why Teach Your Kids Go?

Go teaches kids how to think. Learning Go develops one’s ability to see geometric relationships, visualize and calculate, to use reasoning and plan using strategic concepts. The game also teaches patience, concentration, and helps with all learning and mathematics.

Children who learn and play Go are far less likely to get in trouble and typically become better scholastic students. Many of my former students go to Berkeley and Stanford.

It is very important to learn the proper way of thinking early, before bad habits are developed. Anyone wishing to play Go will greatly benefit from continue instruction from an experienced teacher and acquire a Go study book focus on practice Go patterns

According to research, children’s brains learn and store information differently after puberty. As like learning languages it is best to introduce Go at a very early age – this will greatly facilitate learning ability later in life.

Go in Bay Area

Go is quite popular here in the San Francisco Bay Area with clubs in San Francisco, Berkeley, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale. The Bay Area has semi-annual youth tournament as well as monthly Go tournament.

Go in Asia business

Many Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea successful businessmen endorsed Go and funded International Go tournaments. For ex. Ing cup, which has $400,000 USD top price, was setup by應昌期, a very successful Taiwan business man. President Obama offered Chinese president Hu Jintao a Go board on his 2009 visit, recognizing the prevalence of Go game in China.

About the Game

Although Go is an easy game to learn, it takes many years of intense study to become a world-class player.
