eGoGames becomes the first partner of UNICEF Spain in the field of eSports Mobile Gaming.

Madrid, April 22, 2021 - eGoGames and UNICEF Spain have signed a three-year strategic alliance to promote children's rights through the “Gaming for Good” mobile gaming charity tournament initiative. eGoGames, Europe’s leading mobile eSports platform, is launching a pioneering collaboration with UNICEF in the sector in support of children and adolescents worldwide.

The “Gaming For Good” charity tournaments will be held monthly, and the funds raised during the competitions will go toward UNICEF's regular programs aimed at improving survival, education, and protection for the most vulnerable children. The initiative will be supported by influencers and talents from the world of sports and culture at an international level, who will help promote the charity tournaments, contributing to raising funds for UNICEF.

Moreover, through this collaboration, eGoGames will promote the need to create a safe and healthy gaming environment within the gaming and eSports sector, and will advocate for protection against violence, online harassment, and gaming addiction, with a special focus on young people and teenagers.

For Alejandro Sáez, CEO of eGoGames, this agreement “is a great step forward for the eSports sector.” He also stated, “We are setting a milestone in the industry by being the first partner of UNICEF in the mobile eSports gaming sector. Thanks to this agreement, our users will be able to compete in various games, always focusing on skill and continuous improvement, while supporting the improvement of living conditions for millions of children around the world. Additionally, we want to take our commitment with this alliance a step further, and that’s why eGoGames will work together with UNICEF to align our business policies and practices with children's rights.”

On the other hand, the executive director of UNICEF Spain, Javier Martos, believes that “signing this alliance allows us, with the support of the gaming community, to continue advancing to save, protect, and empower children and adolescents around the world, no matter where they are. We are very grateful for eGoGames’ commitment, not only for supporting the children who need it the most but also for having the courage to evaluate themselves as a company, showing the will to improve, and advocating within the sector to promote responsible gaming.”

In the monthly “Gaming For Good” charity tournaments, sports competitions will take place in different skill-based mobile eSports games. Various influencers and sports and culture talents who support the initiative will encourage their followers to participate in the competitions to achieve greater mobilization in support of UNICEF’s programs worldwide.
